Home Textile Expo 2025: Exploring The Five-Sense Revolution in Home Furnishing Textiles

Stepping into the exhibition hall of Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center, the atmosphere of 2025 intertextile China International Home Textiles & Accessories (Autumn/Winter) Expo first strikes me visually-- In the continuous exhibition areas, **color, texture, and function** intertwine like three threads, reconstructing my understanding of "home textiles".
The Color Lab on the Wall：
Decoding "Emotional Design" Through Mattress Fabrics A rainbow wall (Figure 1) catches the eye at the corner, featuring layered shades of blue-purple, bright yellow, and gray tones. Each fabric piece boasts textured patterns. Upon closer inspection, the exhibitor's brochure reveals an innovative design: **air-layer structure + botanical dyeing**--. These colors aren't just eye candy – the orange fabric creates a cozy bedroom atmosphere, while the light blue version contains breathable micropores that keep you 1-2℃°C cooler than regular fabrics. The eco-friendly twist? "Dyes are sourced from natural plants, and treated wastewater can be reused for irrigation." As the exhibitor's finger glides across the fabric's creases, they emphasize: "Today's consumers want not just style, but sleep quality."
The Natural Code of Fabric Walls：
Touching the Warmth of Sustainability. As you pass through the corridor, a "wall" constructed from hundreds of fabric rolls (Fig. 2) suddenly envelops you. The roughness of linen, the softness of cotton-linen, the fluffiness of wool... As your fingertips glide across the surface, exhibitors emphasize the "return of natural materials": These fabrics eliminate chemical coatings, achieving water resistance and wrinkle resistance through weaving techniques. One deep gray fabric even carries a story about "recycling old clothes." What struck me most was the annotation in the corner of the display wall: "We make 'sustainability' tangible through tactile texture, not just labels."
The "Cooling Revolution" in Pillows:
When Tech Meets Sleep At the home textile exhibition area, an ice-blue checkered pillow (Fig. 3) drew crowds to stop and admire. As you touched it, the coolness of its **ice bean fabric instantly seeped into your palm**. The exhibitor demonstrated with a smile: "The surface features a honeycomb cooling layer, while the inner layer contains slow-recovery memory foam that supports cervical spine alignment when sleeping on your back, and remains firm even when turned sideways." The real game-changer was its washable design-- Unlike traditional cooling pillows that could only be wiped clean, this model can be tossed directly into the washing machine, solving the pain points of "summer heat retention + cleaning hassles". Nearby shoppers couldn't help but exclaim: "So pillows can now evolve like tech gadgets!"
Post-Exhibition Reflection:
From "Product Viewing" to "Life Experience" After a full day of exploring, my notebook was filled with terms like "air layer," "plant dye," and "cooling tech." Yet the most profound realization emerged: Home textiles have transcended their role as mere "fig leaves," evolving into **a mood-regulating palette, health-preserving shield, and eco-conscious vessel**. Lying on the mattress in the experience zone, I felt the fabric's breathability and support, suddenly understanding: This exhibition showcased not just products, but a "five-sense experience blueprint" -- for future home living-eyes feast on vibrant hues, fingers caress tactile textures, skin senses warm temperatures, and even breathe in the natural essence of materials.
Perhaps this is the magic of Intertextile: allowing visitors to envision next-generation "home" possibilities through tactile discovery.
